I got this Pioneer sound package at best buy, it came with two 12 inch subs, and a Pioneer amp. This amp keeps getting hot as **** but it hasnt shut off yet. I took it back to get it checked out and the guy did something to it, i forget what he said, but it keeps getting hot. Besides telling me to get a better amp, what do you think is the problem? its in my trunk and i live in florida, so could it be just the lack of air? I really dont want to replace it but if i have to I will.

Could be a lack of air. You could try a fan. However, most all amps get hot. Some get hot enough that owners say they can fry an egg on them, yet to see it, but read it many times. If you are worried, go to radioshack, get a small fan, and hook it up. Otherwise, amps get hot, voltage, and amperage are hot. Its not just a saying when someone says they got an electrical burn LOL.

alright. so its possible that it will get hot every time and not shut off? because ive played it for about an hour and it was real hot, but still played. i dont want to be scared to play my shit loud.

Go for it, so long as it is wired correctly then you have no worries. if it breaks, take it back to BB, you have a warranty. No worries though, I used to have an amp that after some playing I couldn't even touch the thing it got so hot.

if you unlug it in then plug it back in does it turn on right away. those amps are just really bad amps. i messed with a few of those 4 channel versions and they will not stop cuttin off. just make sure you have the gains set perfect and ground the shit out of it. and imean ground it really reallly well. ground it like you are grounding an amp that pulls 1000amps of current. then find out where it cuts off and do not turn it past there. thats about all you can do. or sell it for 75 bucks. those are probly your only options.
