Pioneer DEH-P4000UB installation

I have a pioneer cd receiver that I am going to take out of my old car that got into a wreck. Looking for a new used car right now, and was just wondering if my cd recevier was meant to go into a certain make of car (had it in a toyota solara, and first time removing/installing) or if it is pretty easy to install in most cars. Thanks to all who reply

I'm not expert but I have done a couple of installs. Typically you need the harness to fit your car. Those usually get soldered on to the CD recievers harness. So I am guessing some one has already soldered a toyota harness on to the pioneer. This can be cut and a different make and manufactures harness can be reconnected. Also you will need a dash kit for that make of car. If the car or stock stereio has data you will need some type of unit to keep certain functions the car has such as onstar, door chimes or what ever. Some require an antenna adaptor as well. It is fairly simple to do though. Just do our research first.

installing HUs are a breeze, when you find the vehicle you wont go to MetreOnline.com and look up your vehicle, this will give you the part numbers for the wiring harness and dash kit, and possibly antenna adapter, depending on the vehicle your looking at. You can then take those part numbers and do a web search to get a good price on them. The parts basically come with instructions.
