Hello all,
I have a 95 Nissan Altima gxe that I got about a year and a half ago. I purchased it from a parents friend for cheap. The previous owner's son/daughter had installed an intake and lowered the ride a bit. I believe he/she replaced the default speakers and installed new ones.
I am currently in class and I am not sure what speakers they are, I plan to look when I get home tonight and can get the cover off the door.
Ive been trying to configure the audio through the headunit for quite sometime but still cant get it right. Im a complete beginner at car audio and when i start trying to customize the settings it never sounds quite right. There are no subs or amp just front and rear speakers.
The headunit is a pioneer DEH-8600MP. This unit has preset configs like powerful, super bass, vocal, natural, etc. The powerful/superbass settings sound like garbage when my volume is anything past id say 40%. The vocal makes it sound alright but barely any bass but i expect that. Natural is the best id say but still if i put my volume past 60% it begins to sound fuzzy and still not much bass.
The best sound usually comes when i start messing with the sub db settings and frequency settings. Problem is they have 3 different setting options for the sub dbs. Also several for the frequencies in hz. And once i find the best setting in one option i go to the next and next and somewhere along the lines it screws up.
Sorry for the wall of text just bored and would be nice to figure this out.
Basically it comes down to these qeustions.
1. Should I just turn the Sub option off because I have no sub?
(With the sub on it definitely adds kick to my speakers and with it off not so much.)
2. What are the best settings in terms of the DB and HZ settings?
(The DB's range from 6 to 18 and the hz from 50 to 200)
3. Is all this information useless because I dont know which brand speakers i have?
Heres the link to the manual http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe/images/portal/cit_11221/81131601Operation%20Manual%20DEH-P8600MP.pdf
I appreciate any help that can be given.
