Pioneer DEH-305 help!

I've got this older DEH-305 Pioneer deck with detachable face. It works but the volume button is acting up and won't let me turn it up or down or it just keeps going up and when I go down, it actually will go up. Anyone run into this and/or fix it? I've taken the faceplate all apart and cleaned everything but it hasn't helped. Any help would be appreciated.

what did you use to clean it? i have used contact cleaner in the past but you MUST let it completly dry befor using it again.

I just wiped off the outside and used compressed air (not to much obviously). The inside was clean but I couldn't see where to pull the rubber piece where the contact is off. Or are you talking about the where it makes its connection from faceplate to unit?
