pioneer avic-n5 brain interchangeable????????

hi guys i just got a used avic-n5 head unit but is missing the brain.i was wondering maybe someone can tell me if which other brain unit is compartible with my head unit. a friend told me that any avic brain unit will work with the n5 model but im not to sure about and i dont want to buy something that i wont be able to use. thanx
