Pioneer Avic N2

Hello

I am new to this forum. I Currently have a Pioneer AVH-P5700 touch screen. It works great and have had no problems.

I have just bought a new Pioneer AVIC- N2. I do know theres a more current model but I was able to buy it new at the store for $440.00 so I cant go wrong there.

Onto my question I have been reading on here that someone has a found a way to bypass the fuction that disables the dvd from not working while driving. I wanted to see if that was true.

Secondly I have read alot where people were having to take out the navigation disks to allow the navigation system to work. I read where a guy had bought a pioneer cd changer and left the disks in the changer to prevent them being taken in and out.

Anyone who may have owned this model now for the past year or more, Id like any input about the model whether it be negative or positive . Im just trying to see what to look out for once its connected and what its limitations are.

Thanks

Steven

Once you set ur route, you can take the NAVI discs out. Otherwise you are limited to set the memory navi for a small area. There is a way to bypass the DVD crap, but it voids your warranty. For $440? That was a heck of a deal for it to be bnib. They run about $700 re-furb. If you have a DVD changer then yes, you can always have the nav disc in and be able to play cd's.

Can anyone tell me how the Ipod interface for an

Avic-n2 is compared to a Avh P5700

Im just curious if it still has the same menu option on the touch screen or if it has more.

Ps i was wondering has anyone burned a copy of there nav disks for a backup.

I will let you know about the IPOD interface Monday. I dunno if the N2 will play burned dvd's, I know that mine didn't. I am going to hook up my D3 on Monday, but I know that it does play DVD-R's.
