Pioneer AVIC-N1 rebooting a lot

Does anyone know of a fix for a Pioneer AVIC-N1 rebooting quite a bit. Sometimes it does it a few times a day. Sometimes it goes all day without rebooting. Today it did it probably 10 times on the way to work. It will just be playing the radio and then it looks like the radio turns off and then turns back on. I'm without music for about 30 seconds and then comes back on. I don't know if a software upgrade would help it. I'm hoping it's a common issue that others have experienced and know how to fix it.

This sounds like a voltage problem. Check your wiring and also your battery.

Your engine does not need a good 12V+ to stay running but the head unit does.

I bought the car brand new and had the stereo installed professionally about a week later. It's worked well until a month or so ago. The car has almost 100,000 miles and been about 5 years. So, I guess the alternator or battery could be going bad now. It's a thought.
