Hey Everyone... im kinda new to this but i just bought a new Pioneer AVIC-D3 Navigation TV for My new 08 Scion TC but the picture wont play unless Parking Break on... How can i wire it differently to have the TV Function work all the time... They sell a Bypass but its $20 and all they do is give you directions how to wire it... Please Help.....

This has been covered before but what you need to do is ground the parking brake wire. Than take the mute wire in the harness and put it in the pin directly below it and ground that as well.

alright..

listen.

there is alot of right and wrong info on this post.

there are 3 things you need to bypass to watch dvds while you drive.

-parking brake

-speed sensor

-gyro

take the parking brake and ground it (i put a switch on it)

-obvious its a pb bypass

to bypass the speed sensor, just don't hook up the ss wire

yes take the mute wire, relocate it to the other side, put a switch and ground it.

-this infact bypasses the gyro

i like to put a switch on both the parking break and mute wires so when i'm not watching a dvd

i can have all the function of the d3 unit.

-if you have done the bypass u notice your arrow and some other functions don't work

-the switches restore the D3 to it's non bypassed state

-after the origional state, it may take some time for the unit to say "i'm not bypassed"

As with the blue tooth.

- the blue tooth is an "internal device" and will work propery with the bypass done.

-if you look on the blue tooth units (pioneer) there are n mute wires to attach

i do alot of D3 installs. i have done 5 D3s with blue tooth modules this week alone.

the only pain in the butts is with bose. the volumes quiet and the onstar volume is quiet

- sometimes it's just easier to bypass the bose amps butt no one wants to pay me for it.
