Been back forth with crutchfield guy. We have a disconnect n I'm almost ready to give up on him.

First is probably basic to most here but I'm as green as it gets. I need ACC 12v switched. Apparently my factory nav was switched on the data. That's what I'm told. Oh by way I have a 2006 Jeep Commander.

The fuse box under steering wheel has a hinged door that swings down. No fuse cover telling you what does what. In fact it's pushed at an angle all way back to the rear. It's very difficult to get to. Above the fuses there are two big harnesses plugged into a board/ plate. How do I find ACC switched?

Do I unwrap the harness and strip back a red wire and test it while turn on key? Crutchfield crimped a female staykon connector on the red wire going to the harness.

Another issue..... I've read hear that most are told not to hook up VSS in PCM. Crutchfield said it's optional but it really helps with navigation. The crutchfield tech and I are going round n round where the PCM is located. I finally went to my jeep dealership and a mechanic pointed it out to me, which is where I thought it was.

Now the crutchfield tech said.... I have very good info on your vehicle and it's located near passenger fender. It's not. He also said you need a dark green/ White wire, it's connected to a green / black connector. There is no Green Black connector, just 2 black and 1 orange. I'm pulling out what's left of my hair!!

Lastly I have to hook up a wire to parking brake. He said it's not just for safety but some of the functions on unit need to see the brake wire or some screens could " gray out ". What's your thoughts on that?

Oh yeah..... I paid to have the harness made for me by crutchfield. Thought save time. They butt spliced everything! What a joke.....and they connected it up to about 20' of wire. So now I need to shorten it up. Im just gonna solder the wires now myself. What a waste of money

Thanks for your help!
