is there anyway to back out of the menu's after you have selected a song, for example, while a song is playing on an ipod, if you hit menu it takes you back to the last artist/song you were at, i have yet to find out how to do this on the 880 and i'm sick of having to start at the letter A when i have over 10K songs on the ipod doing that takes a lifetime.....any suggestions to make searching easier?

Don't hold me to it, but I think thats one downfall of the Pioneer iPod interface. It want let you go back tot he artist you were previously at, you have to start at 'A'. Thats whats holding me from getting a Pioneer, the iPod interface alone. The only thing I could suggest would be to make a playlist of the songs you listen to most. But if you're like me, you listen to everyhting you have, randomly. Besides that little setback, how do you like the Pioneer interface?

well i made playlists with the artists in alphabetical ordre and split the entire library into like 6 sections, the problem is, it then lists by song, you cannot search by artist once you're in a playlist, and when you have over 300 artists trying to get to someone like maroon 5 takes seriously about 2 or 3 minutes, i like the interface but if there is no way around this it's going to really really ****

Thats what I've read people hate about the Pioneer interface, it's nice, but it has flaws. That's why I'm getting the Alpine Full Speed interface and capatible HU, even though they're not as good as the older years.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

after having a few days to get used to it, it honestly is not that bad at all, sure i'd like to be able to avoid it, but with having 10K songs on my ipod i can get to just about anything in 30 secs or so......so all in all, i'm pretty happy, i've never liked alpines user interface and so i can imagine that adding an ipod menu to that would only enrage me further, i'd rather have the greater tuning ability and more user friendly h/u and have to sacrifice one option on something that is already an add on to the units functionality, not a core function
