Pioneer DEH-P80MP

Sup guys I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I got a Pioneer DEH-P80MP head unit and I am running it with a JL 500/1 amp. My friend helped me put in some New RCA's but now on my pioneer deck I cannot set my HPF. Usually when I set my HPF I can either have a little bass or a lot of bass, sort of like a bass controller. If anyone can give me some suggestions on how I can get it back running like how it used to when I was able to switch my HPF and control the bass. Right now when I switch HPF from 50 to 80 or 125 or to off it all sounds the same. Before it would change the amount of bass is pushing out. Thanks.

sure the rca's are plugged into the same spot on the hu?

is this amp ment to drive subwoofers or doors speakers?

and why are you adjusting the hpf, when that limits how low of a freqency will get to the subs? subwoofers are ment to recieve the 0-150 sometimes 0-300 frequencies depending on the setup......

The RCA's were originally connected from the rear outputs to the JL Audio 500/1, but since we just got some new 4-channel RCA's, we used the Front/Rear outputs for the 4ch Alpine amplifer and the subwoofer output for the JL Audio amplifier. MY best guess is the rear preouts provides higher frequencies, and the subwoofer preouts provide a lower frequency band, which is why the HPF isn't effective.

There was some issues with the RCAs used for the JL Audio amplifier as the installers who installed the 500/1 tore the rubber shieldling for the monster cable RCAs. The problem presents itself when we moved the RCAs around. This resulted in static and popping noises when the RCAs are moved.

i woulda made them buy you a new wire, and redid it yourself.

yeah u cant use the sub out on a 4 channel amp, well u can but, not ment for it when your runninh mids and highs...i've got the p80mp too but never had that issue.

he didn't have the 4 channel prior to switching around the system, and he was used to the subwoofer being on the rear channel rca's so that the eq for changing the hpf would increase the bass....
