Pioneer 862 amp - sony xplod spks no sound

Ok everything is setup perfect and the amp is getting power. Connect neg on speaker to neg on amp, pos to pos.... turn on my car no sound. All the speakers running of the deck still have sound, just not the woofers from the amp. Tested the speakers on my friends car and they work. Please give me a list of things to look over/fix im sure one will work. Thanks!

Yes its grounded, for testing purposes i latched it to a paintless part where the door locks in. Power is up to the battery... I know this because the power light is on. Just no sound from speakers... I guess Ic ould try f'ing around with the RCA's.. but did that a shit load last night with no change.

Im not sure... I have not seen one... Although in the instruction booklet it did say whenthe power is turned on. But I believe that is controlled by the deck.

edit: where would the turn on be?

Its all fixed now, I am so retarted... it was my first time hooking this up I took your advice. The thing I thought was bare medal was f*cking plastic coated hahaha. Hooked it up to a bolt in the floor and it worked. Amp wasn't getting enough power from just the + to push the speakers. but it all works now... thanks. Just remember new ppl are stupid and they miss very obvious things.
