maybe, if you are running 4 solo x's. otherwise i agree.10" midbass??//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Where does the madness end?? I mean why in the world would you need a 10" midbass?? Just doesn't make sense to me unless you don't plan on subs.
Right. But if that 10" can only play a little below 60hz then it is definitely a waste of space. The size of a speaker only plays a small part in determining what frequencies it will play best at. That 10" might not play below 60hz very well for all we know. It all depends on the suspension, cone weight, etc.
I agree. A 6 1/2" midbass just doesn't work for me. Ive got the Dyaudio set in mine with the 8" up front.
I just prefer more myself. I've had a few different 6 1/2. I have had dual 6 1/2" Alpine Type R's in each door which I really liked but needed a change. A single Kicker SSMB 6 in each door which is more like a 7. Um...Alpine Type X, and now I have the Dynaudio System 360 in it. I have 200 watts rms going to each side and 700 watts going to my Image Dynamics IDMAX 12. I'm looking at getting a 400x to put on my midbass and a 200x on my tweeters and one on the midrange. You can NEVER have too much power! Also my sub doesn't overpower anything in my truck. It may be 2 db louder than the midbass and the crossover point is at 50 hz. I like for everything to sound like it is coming from up rontSounds to me like you've either never really gave it a chance OR you never had a really good 6.5" driver. I use a 6.5" up front and have midbass to spare. But then again, I don't have 1,000 + watts or more going to my subs so I don't need TONS of midbass to compensate.
