Pictures Included! Need some advice

when you say amplifier gain, what setting is that on the amp?
level, Input level or input sensitivity is your gain on your amp.

If you have to have your gain up high and your bass boost up that means the whole setup is doomed to die. The proper way of doing setups is having a strong source signal aka head unit, line out convertor or digital sound processor giving out a STRONG pre-out voltage. While the amp settings are at near minimal with ZERO bass boost(harmful as fk to your subs) because amps can distort real fast which leads to death of equipment.

Normal pre-out voltage you want would be 2 volts and up preferably 4 volts and up. With your phone you are getting at most half a volt since its split it would probably be even less than that.

You can keep the aux but once that amp gets more power going to it and when its amplifying a dirty signal dont be surprised if that sub goes bye bye.

The first dial on your amp marked 'input level'. If you dont think its loud enough just slowly turn it up until it sounds booboo then back down a bit. But i would like most people with good sounding systems that last a long time, turn bass boost all the way to the left then experiment little by little with it if you want to.. BUT bass boost isnt needed..TRUST. You dont want your subs playing any distortion at all.

So 4g wire for the power, ground correctly, low imput level, very low to no bass boost. What about the other two dials inbetween the input and the boost? What should I do to those?

LP at 11 o'clock position and HP at 9 o'clock position.

LP = low pass filter prevents voices and other frequencies above subwoofer range from going to the sub. HPF = high pass filter or subsonic filter( termused in other amps) Prevents the sub from playing too low and getting mechanical damage from frequencies too low for the sub to play in its current enclosure.

I know the input that is 2nd from the right can turn like all the way and then some, so should I just set them to low and follow the 11 and 9 position?

Update, I finished grounding the system and the background hiss is gone, sounds much better overall and can get pretty loud to where I am satisfied. My new question now is how do I make the amp turn off without having to remove the ground wire to turn it off?

Proper signal via LOC, amp settings and bigger wire. Everything is already answered earlier refer back to what we said its the same thing you gotta do whether you like it or not. Report back when you are done.

Subwoofers normally play in the 20-80hz range however your box is a prefab high tuned box and if you play below that frequency it damages your subs. So yes exact positions i said. Low pass will be around 80hz and high pass will be around 30hz. If you have it all the way to the right, you are killing output because you've cut the low frequency signals.

Please really try to read and understand what we've said earlier

You can tie your remote wire into that car charger that is right there on the right panel in the trunk.. that's what I had done when I tied into the oem system on my vw golf. It powers on/off with the key..
