Strings attached to the top of your trunk dangling the amps = Floating

Umm, welding would be the best.... how about some serious glassing.... a stem that reaches out to a cradle that holds the amp..... think a waiter's arm holding a tray of food.

lol. not that kind of floating.

it was more along the lines of a rack below the amp, and a hidden support under it, so it looks like the amp is floating.

i honestly dont know if it would hold up. the 2500.1 is seriously 28lbs or somthing. and the 550.6 is like 18lbs.

they are quite heavy...

Well you might have to reinforce with chicken wire or something....but it can be done.
