Picking new sub stage

Looking for pure loudness...i want to do one of the followings...

2 AQ 2200s strapped with -

4 12 type-r sealed...6 cubes

1 18 BTL or HDC 18 ported 6-7 cubes tuned to 36hz

2 AQ hdc 12s 6 cubes tuned to 38hz

what would you guys do...

why not do 2 or 3 hdc315s

4 12's would be more cone area. are you set on having those boxes for each choice? i think you could work a little on the box for the R's.

well two 15s would only get 3-3.5 cubes i didnt think they would work on that...though they need 4-4.5...and im not set on the box im still designing but i would really love to do 4 12s that be cool

i see that the 12 in ch type-rs dont need that much air space i could use 1.5 a woofer and port it...

do two high powered 12s; mt, btl, dd, aq, apx, apxx, etc., etc.... and then get the two audioque amplifiers. should be pretty loud. just make sure you have the electrical in the car to support all the current flow.

not true. sealed boxes will cut spl...install specific OF COURSE. just thought id add that before i get flamed...but two powerful 12s in a ported box, with the right amount of power...will defiantly beat those 4 12s in your trunk. i never had luck with facing subs up when i use to have my grand am.

thats the most frequently asked question on the forum and there is no right answer. It is all install dependent. Some people say that they are louder with the subs facing into the trunk, while some say they are louder with the subs facing towards the trunk. Then you can try boxes with the subs rear, and port to the side of the trunk and see if you get louder that way. Regardless of BRAND names...any of those subs will get very louder...that is their purpose. Just wait on the forum until you can get a good deal...
