Picked up my "dream car" yesterday!

Well, I traded off my Bravada yesterday for my dream car. got a 1973 Mach 1 with 80K miles on the clock. It is going to be a pretty in depth rest-mod job that I have been wanting to do for years. The car was mid restoration and "something happened" that the guy wasn't able to finish it. It has a TON of brand new NOS parts that came with it along with a bunch of new parts on it including all new suspension, gas tank, wiring, interior (black "leather"), freshly built 351W (I will be selling), new glass and seals/weatherstripping all around etc...

the paint job is absolutely one of the worst paint jobs I have EVER seen!! Both the look/quality are just plain disgusting but that is OK because that is my favorite type of work to do anyways. the car is really solid with the exception of the floor pans (not too bad really, just pin holes) and the bottom 6"-8" of the quarters which seems to have a decent amount of bondo. Frame rails, torque boxes, upper 1/4 panels and all that good stuff is SOLID soI will only have to spend about $300~ on sheet metal which is AWESOME! Literaly other than the body work/paint this car has pretty much been completely "restored". As for the paint, I am going to stick with the good 'ole yellow/black Mach-1 look, it will look pretty much factory inside and out with the exception of the rims (I want to do something like these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Black-Fits-Mustang-rims-17-9-10-5-Bullitt-Cobra_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem439c3693f1QQitemZ290383631345QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories ) engine with either be a 408W or a 514, haven't decided 100% yet but It woun't be built for a couple months so I have time to think more about it.

Basicaly going for this look but with a little rake, different rims and widest rear meat I can fit safely.

how much did you pay
Edit: nevermind said you traded
yup... I paid $500 for The bravada and put about $400 in it so I guess you could say I paid $900... the NOS parts that came with the car alone are probably worth twice that easily, not including all the NOS parts actualy ON the car too.

i thought your dream car was the oscar meyer weiner mobile...***.

post pics of the bush baby!

=]
already had the Oscar Meyer weiner mobile but I let you mom barrow it and when she returned it the whole outside smelled like rotten fish //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

nice ride, as long as the unibody anit rusted out. COOL
yeah, the car is SOLID as far as the important stuff goes, nothing to worry about there! I am just excited to start tearing it down and see exactly how bad the lower 1/4's and floor pans are. At first glance they seem pretty decent with the exception of the stuff noted in the original post but you knwo how that goes. Going to have to clean out a stall in my garage to start putting all the parts out there and see exactly what all I have!

Those wheels are JUNK you get what you Pay for. Get some decent wheels.
LOL, YEAH!! not going with THOSE particular wheels, just that look. something kind of "cragar/Bullit" staggered look in black with polished lips.

Where the front suspension towers are is where they like to rust. We have one just like that on the rotisserie. doing a complete restore
yeah, that and the torque boxes seem to go first... both solid though, I wish I had room for a rotisserie! Built one about 6 years ago for my Fiero but I had a much bigger (80 x 200) shop back then. Now I am just in my little 3-stall garage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Never liked mustangs after 69, but good deal for what you had invested definatly. I remember when you were *****ing about accidently buying the bravada, guess you dont regret it now do you? lol. Why you ditching the 351? Stepping up to a big boy motor?
