Guess he cant see the potential in it. Ford FTW!

Although, ill have to disagree with your sarcasm and say i like some of the pintos. A lady down the road has a 71 model and i think its pretty nice, she wont sell it though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Dont know how it got that bad, weird cuz the body literally has no rust on it other than a few pinholes in the rear right quarter and small problems in a few spots. The floorpan seems like a big deal to me though as i dont weld and havent tackled anything of this proportion before, but im gonna get 'er done. Its all a learning experience. Alot of the floor rust is just surface and im gonna wire wheel it, the left will just need a patch in the rear and a small one in the front, luckily it stops at the toe boards on both sides.

Edit : oh yea, post some pics of your floorboards //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I am replacing ALL of the floor pan and trunk pan as well. It isn't really hard to do just make sure you have a good spot weld cutter and a little saw/cutoff wheel. Don't use a sawz-all because those get away from you too easy and you don't want to hack through anything important. plug weld and be sure to use a good seam sealer.

Dont have a spot weld cutter yet, do have a good amount of air tools like cutoff wheels, grinders, wire wheel, air chisel, etc. What do you mean by plug weld? I was talking to a guy about helping me with it and he said the method he uses is welding spots around it and using seam sealer along all the welds to allow for flex or something, hows that sound?

Looks like someone "repaired" some rust in your car and coated over it with some undercoating or something, might be much more worse than it looks, or maybe im not seeing it right.

you can see underneath where the "repairs" actualy are, that is why I marked them since you can't really tell from the top side. but yes, they "repaired" the floors then used a lot of sealer and undercoating to try and hide it LOL...

"plug welding" is just when you make a hole in a piece of metal and mate it up against another piece of metal and fill in the hole with weld.. kinda hard to explain it really but here you go: http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/plug-weld.htm

as for tips and such just goolge search and there are a ton of tutorials on properly replacing a floor pan. get a spot weld cutter for sure! MUCH better than trying to use a drill bit! plenty of weight and clamps, a few extra people wouldn't hurt either.

heres a decent tutorial: http://www.mustangmonthly.com/howto/mump_0411_pan_replace/index.html
