OK first of all im only 16 and im short on cash i know this isn't a top notch system...it's acually pretty ghetto, anyway, this is what i got in the floor in the back of my f150

system5dh.jpg

2 audiopipe 10" subs, and a Lanzar 1000watt vibe amp.

It sounds okay right now but the bass really doesn't carry far, Not as deep as i would like it i guess. you cant really even hear it outside the truck (not that i want the whole neighborhood to hear it)

is the bass not as loud as i want it just because theyre cheap subs ?

sealed box.

anyway my question is, there's 3 adjustments on the amp. one that says "low" one "high" and the gain for the whole amp

where should i start on adjusting them? should the low be turned more than the high?

I'm running em bridged.

also any other tips to get some cleaner sounding bass

soon i will order some JL audio 10" subs and put them in this box but i just need cash first. i think anything would be better than these audiopipe subs

i dunno much about this stufff but have u tuned the amp or neone tune it??

u always got to tune it after instal to get it working nice, i cant help u on which one to tweak , best way is trial n error !

Id start with the low pass filter and get it tweaked where you think it sounds the best. Then set the volume at just about the loudest you will listen to it and set the gain based off of that. You proably don't have access to an oscope so you'll have to play it by ear. Literally.

My opinion:

The audio pipes are not terrific but they should beat. The problem is your amp. When Lanzar says 1000 watts they really mean about 300 - 400 RMS and that is probably at 14.4 volts. If your only giving your subs 150 or 200 watts each you won't hear it outside the vehicle. Try swapping amps with a buddy and see if it makes a difference. If it does then consider getting a new amp. Get something nice that will work with a variety of subs. Here is a page from another forum that lists some of the brands and where they stand.. I'd say it is pretty accurate but some things in the highly recommended should be under a higher catergory. Like Tru Tech, Arc Audio, and Rainbow. I don't think Xtant should be there. Mabye average.

Thanks for the input

The amp more than pushes these subs though, If i turn the gain up to about half the subs get overpowered

I'll go mess with the adjustments like you said and see what i can get outta it. it beats real nice but i want more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

im 16, i paid for all my audio equiptment on my own, if you really want to have something nice, give us a budget, we will reccomend a system. Save and buy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
