The problem is you bought a P.O.S. I used to work for CC and we had a guy go through 5 of these in 3 months because something keept breaking on it. I can't tell you how many times I have gone to install these crapy *** units and it be defective right out of the box. I would say go return it and spend the money and get a better unit.

No, it will spark at first, like when you hook up a positive cable on you're battery, but you have to wrap it around and tape it off... Then you might have to calibrate the touch screen , i'm not to familiar with that specific model.

But if it did spark that means its good contact, just tape it off once you have the jumper wire connected and see if the touch screen responds to touches.

One trick with touch screens is after you have everything wired up, you have to strip a portion off the yellow + black wires, and put a small jumper wire between them to get the screen to function correctly.

One thing that you may try is cleaning the screen that helps as well. I have found that the best way t get it clean is to go down to autozone or pepboys and buy some blinker fluid and that will take care of the problem

Yep thats all there is to it, but what he forgot to mention was that you need to first pull the radio fuse in the car out and then jump the two wires together and then put the fuse back. That will fix everything. It's a reset for the radio.
