With any of the other amps he would have headroom for the w0's, but 1200 watts for them? Thats just a waste for the amp, but if it really puts out that much power, then go for it.Headroom baby!
some guy tried telling me that at a local store...i don't believe him thoughppi then pg then eclipse....i've heard stories of eclipse amps not putting out rated power...
Are you serious? Dude, you really need to do some homework before speaking. The PC2150 will do over 1200 watts (conservitively) at 4 ohms. PPI isn't a legend for no reason. People didn't buy PPI for thier pretty looks. PPI as a rule put out double thier rated power. The PC2150 (pre 1999) is going to walk all over the others listed, period, point blank. Just ask some vets. JesusOn a test performed by CA&E (some of you can take that for what it's worth) the PG amp belted out 623 watts @ 4 ohms and 713 watts @ 2 ohms both at 14v. I doubt the PPI will touch that.
Here we go again, someone somewhere has to cop some attitude. F^%$ING grow up. True I didn't/don't know the rateings of PPI very well, but if an amp that's rated at 600 wrms puts out 1200+ wrms, that's a little far fetched to me. You think PG ins't legand? WTF is up w/that? Take PPIs top of the line amp rated at what? say 1200 x 1 @ 4 ohms (what ever the year) and PGs top of the line amp The ZPA0.5 Rated at 1000 wrms X 1 @ 4ohms. W/a simple mod, that consists of cutting two resitsors, will give it an out put of over 1100 wrms X 1 @ 4 ohms and 1600+ wrms X 1 @ 2 ohms. Now I don't know if the PPI is stable to 2 ohms mono or not, depends on the amp in comparrison. In no way what so ever was I putting down PPI. A friend has had two of them as well as HAD a ZPA0.5 which was to much for him at the time. I've been in Car Audio for over 13+ years beyond that, there isn't much you're going to say or tell me that I don't know. Are you serious? Dude, you really need to do some homework before speaking. You know what??? I felt kinda bad after I left my post. I think I was just in a pissy mood last night, sorry. Anyway, the PPI PC2150 really does no less than 1200 watts @ 4 ohms. I have had an extensive career with PPI, they USED to be my favorite till they sold out and turned to garbage. Here we go again, someone somewhere has to cop some attitude. F^%$ING grow up. Now we have some common ground. Put this behind us and lets move on. We all get pissy. I take offense when someone assumes I don't know??? what ever the topic may be, but I WILL NOT POST IF I DON'T KNOW. I'm not about missguiding someone. All is cool. You know what???
