Ok, I could probably get all these amps around the same price which is around 100-150. SO price is not a factor. These amps are:

- Pg Tantrum 500.2 (used)

125x2(4 ohm stereo)

250x 2 (2 ohm stereo)

500x1(4 ohm bridged)

- Eclipse 3350 (new)

130x2@4ohms

200x2@2ohms

400x1@4ohms

- PPI Chrome pc2150 (used)

150x2@4ohm

300x2@2ohm

600x1@4ohms

Want to know most efficient, reliable, and SQ SQ SQ.

I would have to choose the Power Class PPI over the others. It has more rated power and was rated at 12v. Also it was a bit under rated. Nothing against the others but that older PPI stuff is hard to beat.

Well, since they are used, I wanted opinion on which of them wee most reliable so they dont go breaking down on me down the road, or by the time I can afford another one. I am gonna use them temporarily for 2 w0s bridged. Then later on the road to some good components. Thanks for the inputs

both the PG and the PPI should be equally reliable. Since you are going to be running it on subs, as squeak said get the one with the power and price that fit you best. I haven't seen bench test on both but I really doubt the PG would out power the PPI.

I vote for the tantrum, I'm not exactly impartial though. I'll be running 2 tantrum amps in another week or 2. I like the flexible crossover they have on them; great for someone without a built in crossover on their deck.

I haven't heard anything bad about any of those amps. PPI might be my 1st choice if I wasn't such a tantrum fan at the moment.

EDIT: I'd highly doubt you'll notice any difference in SQ between those amps.

None of those listed is going to match the PPI. However, even though the Chrome PPI's were still built with the good components, they had a tendancy to overheat. Its still going to push more than double its rated power. As far as SQ goes, PPI takes the cake and the left over frosting. In "96" PPI powered every winning car in all 16 IASCA categories except one, where it tied with Zapco. Phoenix gold came in third almost every category, and Fosgate took almost every category for second.

Eclipse is some awesome sounding power, but it puts out just about what its rated.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

So based on that the ppi is going to sound better. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif If anything the speaker is going to determine more of that. Competitions dont mean Ish. Go with what you think looks better, or what you can get the best price on.

I was making a point. PPI does double its rated power, while sounding excellent. Why pay for 600 watts when you can get 1200 for the same price? Just a thought, if competitions don't mean squat why do they have them. By the way it was the sq trophies PPI won. It may be coincidence if they win three or four category's, but all 16? Not a coincidence. You can't argue with a legend. Old school PPI is almost mythical.
