Performance Car Bargain

hmmm maybe I need to ride in an integra again, it's been awhile. I remember the prelude having plenty or driver room. And if the legend isn't a handler and doesn't have an aftermarket then it's to be ignored...
I will probably own a BMW 325ix for the wife after buying this car but she'll get more $$$ to play with....

I can make due with an auto if it's snappy enough...
theres a decent amount of room in the front, pretty much the same as the integra..but, the back seats are non-existant in the prelude. the teg is a hatch, with foldable seats, so you can haul pretty much anything with it...

the accord v6's are really nice..but, the auto-***** in hondas ****. a legend is a much funner car than the accord. Really fast on the highway.

Find yourself a 97-99 grand prix GTP with a supercharged 3.8L
240 horse/ 280 ft lbs of torque stock, tons of aftermarket, should be able to find one for around 5 g's

FWD
Exactly what I was thinking. Or a regal gs. Pretty much the same car, different badging, and I like the regal's looks better. I am kinda biased though.

Check out regalgs.org or clupgp. That will give you some background on these cars if you don't already know.

try a 2002 or newer Altima/Maxima with the VQ35 (the 4-bangers have had reliability issues).

You can find a late-90s Audi A8 for around $6k. AWD, 300+hp, leather, 25mpg, and plenty of space make a pretty nice package. Decent online and aftermarket support too. Would be my next car, but repairs are costly if you need them.

Coming from someone who has an accord, you do NOT want a 6th generation (98-02) automatic accord. Already had a ****** go at 50k miles and I don't beat on it. This newer one is acting up already when its hot out. The v6 accords are slow as hell too, mostly due to the craptastic automatic that year has. Look for a 4 cylinder in stickshift and you'll be happier. Slap a Prelude's H22A motor in there and call it a day. =D

as far as a gtp/gtx...i would not buy any force inducted domestic car w/ over 60k...my x-g/f worked at a pontiac/gmc dealer for years and they always saw more s/c bonnies and gp's than any other car..always with the chocolate milk-shake on the underside of the oil cap (blown hg)

rotary motors are awesome, but finding the newest model rx7 for anywhere near 5k is not going to happen..and the older models are ugly as hell imo
hahahahahaha no go on a gtp/gt... but yes to a rotary???hahahahahahahahha you fail.

a rotary motor is incredibly easy to squeeze extra power out of and it weighs nearly nothing. If you can wrap your head around the way the motor produces power, theyre simple to work on..

i personally would rather have an early 90's rx7 over something with a s/c 3800 *shrug*

doesnt sound like he wants either..so yeah, i fail //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've owned two forced induction cars from GM with over 60k and I would continue to do so for a while because...

That problem with the milk shake oil you're talking about is the intake gasket problem found on a LOT of GM models, simply due to the Dex-Cool coolant eating away at the intake gaskets, happens all the time, not because its a supercharged 3.8L.

Intake gaskets cost anywhere from 400-1000 to have replaced and once thats done, keep up on your maintenance and that car will last you to well over 150K.

Now if you throw mileage into the mix it tilts towards the honda's.... how do those superchared 3.8's do on gas... and how do they handle on the back roads?
