People who own motorcycles

I owned a '93 cbr600f3

Before I bought it, my friends told me don't get nothing smaller then a 900. I did not listen and regretted it everyday. So I am saying nothing smaller then a 1000 since they do not have 900's anymore.

Also for insurance a was payng about $50 full coverage. (statefarm)

If you can get statefarm, They do not look at racingbike or cruiser they go by CC's.

Also as far as the bike, its all preference. I prefer Honda and Yamaha. But a lot of people love Suzuki.

Also if you do not have any friends to ride with, it gets boring fast.

the best all around most rider friendly and forgiving entry level sport bike is the cbr600f2 and f3 (1992-1997) ive owned an f2 and f3... they are great little bikes and once youre experienced enough theyll go faster andbhandle better then youll ever need it to... stay away from the r6 unless you want to learn about throttle control first thing.. gsxrs are fairly un forgiving as mine came on HARD mid band as was a bit cumbersome compared to a cbr. if you want good linear pulling power go with a 1 ltr twin... my buddy has a tl1000 and its a great fun ride... smooth power from top to bottom and very nimble... but again for a dirst bike id stick with an older cbr.. i had my 95f2 over 150mph several times... i would still own a small 6 cbr but my wife gave up riding so i bought my 954.. nothing funner then roll on wheelies at 60 mph... lol... oh yeah and if the cbr is not comfy for you check into the yamaha seca ll 600.. its a sport tourer that will still go plenty fast enough you qnd is hella cheap to insure... thats what my wifes first bike was then she graduated to a cbr f4i may it rest in peices..

i disagree with this for a first time entry level rider... only 1ltr bike id say go with is a tl1 for a intermediate rider or have been ridin dirtbikes and have some exp... stay away from the busas,R1's and big singles unless you have some good decent riding experience on the road.... a cbr will do eterything you want it to and will out ride an entry level rider any day of the week... once youre experienced pipe it jet it and gear it to your liking... putting a begi ner rider on a big single is just retarded imo.....even the old yzf600r ( not the r6) is a decent de-tuned sport bike for a beginner.... go ride a few if you have the abililty to.. im sure youll find th cbr f2 and f3 and plenty enuf to rip your hands from the bars... also. im 6'1 205 so were in the same ball park....

I don't get why your first bike can't be bigger. When I purchased my Hurricane back in 96, I was a good 300 pounds, but built pretty good and wanted something to haul my big *** around, so went with the 1000cc. I learned on that bike and everything. Just have to use your head....

its not that it cant be.. 600s from my past riding experience are a much nimbler bike and more forgiving... ive been riding on the street since 94 and have owned an f2 an f3 a 2000 gsxr 600, an 2005 r6 and my current 954.. my wife has owned an f4i and a 1996 seca ll ........ a few of my friends have always rode 1 litres...the only thing that wouldnt hang with my buddies busa would be my old f2.. my r6 would actually out run his busa up through 5th gear but after that he had me but were talkin 160+ mph... anyone who says a small 6 isnt enough for a beginner rider doesnt know much about sport bikes... my r6 and the f4i would beat my current 954 throigh 4th gear.. the 600's are an easier more nimbler bike to ride imo.. i only have the 954 cause my wife gave up riding and combined were 250 pounds so i stepped to the bigger bike for comfort not to mention i only paid 2800 for it from a buddy that couldnt do the payment on it anymore... i will eventually go back to an R6 or f4i cause imo they are funner in the corners and will do everything inna str8 away my 954 will for the most part.. really how oftern do we see over 100mph on legal highways?? not often.. unless ofcourse youre a dumbass... ive been riding track day at PIR for since 1998... not sayin you cant go 1 litre just sayin a 600 will do anything a big bore will and will be more forgiving and nimbler in the twisties.... my two pennies.... like i told the op... go ride a few if you have the means to and find whats comfy for you.... im sure youll find a cute lil 600 plenty enough..

I enjoyed the torque of the liter over the 600.

YOu can learn on a big bike just like you can on a small bike. Why waste money on a smaller one when you can just get the one you wanted. Just have to respect it. But that is for all bikes.

But its preference. Like I do not like Busa's because its to big. I like a smaller framed bikes like the R1, CBR and GSXR1000

$50 a month
sick bike. what would something like that run?

I paid about 300/yr and had 750k additional medical on myself as well.

Go take a MSF course!

and theres nothing street about that Duc that was posted. Pure race (note lack of lights and slicks)

Mine is 835 a year for 3 bikes...

08 1000RR

02 954RR

03 636

then my woman pays 300 a year

03 F4I

Then I don't pay for my other 636 and my F4I...just stunt bikes...If you want pics just ask...I need to get a pic of all of em in my garage...everyone always freaks out when I open the door...lol

So what kind of insurance am i look around for me being 22 and getting 600cc, i have state farm for my car insurance so i guess i should get bike insurance from them too.
