yea ive not heard a good thing about the carb choke or all the leaks but its a weeknd bike, ill deal with it:)

Do the '59s have the sludge trap issue as well? Or are you just running an external filter to deal with it...

I can deal with leaks, and intermittent electrics...but splitting the cases to clean out sludge or have the whole thing seize up? What were they thinking //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

How big are you, and what kind of riding do you think you'll be doing mostly?
The Ninja 250R gets recommended a lot, maybe the Suzuki SV650, Suzuki GS500F...

Crotch rockets really don't interest me, if they did my search for a bike would have been a lot easier //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
I'm 6' feet tall, and just summer riding casually.

i am 6'4" also and first had a 2005 ninja 636, insurance was $500 yearly full coverage. Now I have 2007 ZX-10R and insurance is $550 yearly full coverage. No tickets now and 34 years old thru state farm

at this point i would do anything to get a bike...i need a job

The bike I have is a great starter bike its comfortable and affordable as well. Kawasaki Versys it is a great bike and it has plenty of pep PLENTY. The bike goes for 6000 plus some brand new. Just to let you know I am 20 and I think she pretty fast. The only bad part is you have a nice system in the car but darn you want to take this bike instead I always pick the bike over the car and every time I ride it it puts a smile on my face.http://www.kawasaki.com/products/product-specifications.aspx?id=246
a 600cc crotch rocket will be MORE than enough to learn on unless your over 230and just enough to keep you entertained for a while if you still want to ride after your first scare

crouching insurance hidden crotch rocket?
I was wondering if I was the only one who caught that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I ride a 2007 Yamaha YZF-600R and I paid just over 250 last year for 6 months full coverage (doesn't cover repairs if you dump the bike or you are in an at-fault accident, this is a thing you should know about bike insurance); can't really ride a bike year round in michigan. I'm 26 and have no points right now.

i started on dirtbikes but my first street bike was a ninja 250 great starter bike you get a feel for everything
I wish I had gotten myself an older cheaper 250cc before buying a 600; it's my 1st bike and took me a long time to get used to the clutch. Before jumping on it the only thing I had ever rode was a 4 wheeler a few times; still have never ridden a dirtbike. I needed alot more practice then I thought I did.

I had an old school 88 Honda Hurricane(1000cc) back in 95 to 98. Loved that bike and miss it dearly. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I was paying 85 a month, a little over 1000 dollars a year for full coverage, but I was also 18 when I got the bike.

Now when I get quotes for full coverage on a bike, it is like 25 a month, lol! I just haven't made that dive again. Been thinking about it, but I know myself to well and probably end up as road kill.
