Pioneer Deh-P3800MP. I like it a lot because its on the cheaper side, has rca and aux inputs, and is xm ready.

Anyone have thoughts or comments?

And it is possible to change the green illumination to a different color?

I haven't seen one in person but looking at the stats on paper it looks like a pretty solid budget deck. 2 sets of preouts, one being rear/sub switchable with a LP crossover in sub mode, .mp3/.wma playback, etc etc for $150 if paying retail isn't bad at all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

From what I can find the button illumination isn't variable.

Yup Im pretty much set on it. Just curious to see if anyone that sells it like (snova) *nudge nudge* has it in the stores yet.

We have it in stock where I work, I personally do not like the cosmetics/button layout on that unit. One knob, but don't be fooled it is not the rotary commander rather just a volume knob. There is a little pad next to it to change the tracks and adjust the tuner. However, if you don't care about that then it is deffinitly a good buy in it's price range. Featurewise it has good outputs, aux in, IP bus, and HPF/LPF built in. If you have more detailed questions I can go dig out my pioneer book...

I hope they improved the ipod interfacing...because, quite frankly, it is horrible.

No I have yet to sell one, they just came in last week. I can not say for sure how the XM/Sirius interface would be, but I would wager very very similar to that of the 3700mp. Honestly if you were going to buy one I would just spend the 20$ and upgrade to a DEH-P480MP. Looks better, flip face, larger display

Yeah supposedly they've improved the iPod interface for '06 so you get more then the 8 characters of display and it works faster. I've got my fingers crossed for that, because I actually will not sell them to my customers for the '05 line unless they got a 5700 screen or the AVIC-N2.

The honest truth though is if you had the money I recommend the DEH-P680MP, amazing amount of features and performance for the money. If you don't though the 480 would serve you well. (I think the specs are the same for the non-Premier line too, you'll have to forgive me for not knowing because we're a Premier dealer)
