what kind of numbers are you all getting?

here is a pic of my wall in my mazda right now. i'm just not getting the numbers i really want out of this b/c i don't have enough airspace for what i need in the ext cab. right now as it sits it does a 153 on a burp sealed up, 157 outlaw, and i'm still having a hard time trying to bass race the 149 class with this . the box is only 10.3 cubes after port displacement and its tuned up in the 54 range right now and i have a song for that but the #'s just arent there. and this is a 16v setup now and running 4 sundown 1500's 3 subs strapped at 1.3(0.65 per amp) . those are IA death row 12's also.

Would i be better off trying to do a blowthrough in this or would i be wasting my time for better numbers?

Your problem is that the port is at the top of the box.

Swap it so that the port is on the far drivers side running top to bottom and that will gain you quite a bit.

also make the baffle nice and thick. and the rear wall.

^ this man speaks truth

You may gain some from a blowthru, but it will be a toss up depending on the equipment. With that wall, your cabin is teeny which will help with numbers. a blowthrough is going to increase the size of the cabin, but you may also increase the size of equipment. Its a toss up.

actually in a full blown walk through the size of the cab going from a reg cab to a ext cab shouldnt really change much, MAYBE a few tenth if its done properly

im looking at getting a 2nd s-10 and doing one with 8 15's, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Best change up the 8 15s. My walk-through is almost done with some //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Also for my old blow-through I did a 154 with 6 12s and like 4k in a 4th order.

I have seen people do well with the port at the top like that, especially musical. Not everyone wants it just for straight spl. Its nice when you can use your subs for music, but I know you can do a port on the drivers side and still use it for music, but both ways can work

umm no port is on the drivers side if you've ever seen an SPL setup in your life.
Subs on passenger side.

oh really dumbfuvck?

thats why i managed to do pretty dam good at finals with just 2 18's non walled against 8 15 in a 4th order, and dude with 6 12's in a ported wall

i missed 1st place by .2 db's which if i hadnt did something stupid i would have beat that.

so i think imma have to say i know my s-10 ext cab trucks

if your so smart? whats the best sub/port combo in it?

exactly what truck is that? and could we get some pics of the whole wall, wats the dims of your port? etc
its a 2000 Mazda B3000. same thing as a ford ranger. port is 210 sqin was made a little bigger so if i had to i could shrink it. better to have to much cause it can be fixed. i have tried to shrink it put my numbers fell off also.

If i were to use the same subs in a 6th order and same 4 amps for now . i will either go to 6 1500's or 3 3000's later on. in a blowthrough? i really wouldn't be gaining cabin space cause i could push the box through to where this one sits at and wall it off so it would pretty much look like an reg cab blowthrough.

i dont really want to tear this all up and do a port on the drivers side or pass side and gain only 1 db if a blowthrough is going to do more for me that's what i would like to know.

here's pics of the port
