people putting hands on subs

it seems like everytime you show someone your subs they want to put their hands on them to feel them and i have to yell at them before they do this.. i know it cant be good for them to touch them but what exactly can it do?

i think when you push on the cone of a sub you'll hear a rubbing noise which i believe is you voice coil rubbing which can't be good. i'm not an expert at the designs of subwoofer but i gave it a half-assed stab in the dark.

It can damage the whole motor structure of the sub if you move it non-linearly (sp?). Keep their filthy hands off of the driver, especially while it's playing.

Dont push in on them while therye playing. Just mke contact between the woofer, and your hand, and let the woofer move your hand, kinda feels cool, i do it all the time, mine are behind my seat, ease of reach.

jtomsic: What you think about the 04 l7 12's? im getting two 12's in february, im going to push them with my kicker kx800.2 amp, in a 2.75cuf per side 29hz box. Also will be brideged wired at 4ohms. Think that will pound?

im pleased with mine, they get **** loud, im gonna be building a new box within the next few weeks so im hoping that gives me a lot more output, however im not sure how much power that amp puts out, but id go atleast 500watts per sub
