so i have a pdx5 hooked up to an alpine type s 12" 4ohm sub in a truck box. it sounds good but i listened to a friend that has a 10' type r with a alpine mrp m450 amp and it blows mine away. could i have my sub hooked up wrong. on the back of the sub the two terminals in themiddle are conected together with the little jumper wire and the 2 wires coming from the amp are going to the outside conections on the sub. any ideas?

Oh man, I feel so sorry for you running a PDX-5. I hate to break it to you, but you are lucky, and I mean LUCKY if that amplifier gives you 200 watts @ 2 ohms on the sub channel. I had one for all of 30 minutes before I ended up giving it back to the person I was thinking about buying it from.

The subwoofer channel on that PDX-5 made my sub so transparent, it was like I didn't even have a subwoofer installed in my car. The sub channel was so weak that It didn't even move my 13w6v2 whereas my Orion HCCA 225 actually gave me more output than the PDX-5.
