pda direct to speakers

what i want to do is set up my PDA in my car (with mp3s on it) and have it play through my car speakers..i just removed the tape deck that was in and the idiot who put it in had cut the factory harness out of it..so i have all the speaker wires..what would i need to buy in order to put sound out (at a decent volume) to my speakers from the headphone jack of my pda..i already have it powered..

any suggestions..i would like the way i have it set up with the touch screen to replace the head unit altogether...

it seems like you're trying to plug your speakers directly to your pda. if so, that aint gonna work very well. you'll need an amplifer to amply the signal from you pda to send to your speakers. you're best bet would be plug in your pda to an aux input of a hu, or use a fm transmitter or modulator.
