so what do you ppl think... im running the cmx kicks...

i can either go active with about 104 watts per speaker or run passive at up to 280 watts (but will run 200 now)

i can also use this amp to run the mids and use an old sony =( i have in my closet to run the tweets for now until i can replace it...

but i heard to run about 150 to the mids active... and not sure if adding another amp would be worth it for only 50ish watts..

i only have front speakers so im afraid that if i run them active with half the power... it wont be loud enough...

would appreciate your input

try both for yourself? I assume your just using the same amp running @ 4 ohms x2 to 4 ohms bridged.

i considered bridged zx350.4 to run passive... but its loud enough for me as it is.

I'm running rsd's btw..

yea my HU is teh suk and would have to do it all by hand

actually tuning it and setting it up wouldnt be that hard for me - i pretty much understand how to do it (few questions id have to ask) but otherwise

have a 30 band eq - and access to an RTA... - i still gotta buy the active crossover but other than that going active wouldnt be a problem - i just dont wanna do all this and find out i liked it better the other way =P

i wa salso thinking of going active with the front speakers and throw in some rears in the future.. yea i know you ppl hate rear fill but i wouldnt spend that much on it and if i ever wanted to turn em off - i could

the main problem with my car is its noisy as hell - i need to deaden the floor/firewall bad - but its winter and im kinda poor to afford all that deadeneer - i will this spring but until then /shrug

id still go passive unless u have a HU that supports 3way active(9835,9855 p880 etc.)..passive crossovers are designed especially for the speakers at hand and

1. u have more power @ your dispossal then

2. although ppl dont believe so the midbass does get more power then the tweet does via passive Xover so u'd be using it to its full potential

i went back to passive and it sounds just as good and i didn't have to dial in much. try both. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

funny part is i think my jbl amp litterally just died on me...

and its really not that funny cause i dont think im gonna be able to afford another amp very sooon

my amp goes into protect mode for like 5 seconds then tries to turn on but goes straight back into protect... voltage is fine - wiring is fine - other amps turn on thats on that distrubtion block... thing is probaly fkd eh?
