I know i post a lot of stupid things on here and joke around a lot, but if you guys could be serious in this thread that would be great. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I am going to law school in August with the goal of eventually opening my own law firm up after 5 or so years of either being a corporate attorney, or a District Attorney. My father has told me that down the road he would probably want to invest in whatever i am doing if he thinks i could be sucessful and make him some money as well. What is the best route for me to take with a legal degree and someone who wants to invest a decent amount of money into whatever venture I am trying to take? The ultimate goal is making a significant amount of money obviously, but i am trying to think if there is a better way then opening a civil/criminal firm up like i originally intended to.

Entertainment Lawyer. As long as there is a need for Entertainment you'll always be in business. Basically your job is to bump heads with the Record Labels and Entertainment companies on the contracts that they give your client. You'll meet lots of big name people, and if you become good enough. They will be searching to find you, instead of you searching to find clients.

You could buy junk patents and sue people.
yea but that sounds pretty unethical and sleazy. I don't want to be an ambulance chaser or some other time of sleazy lawyer which seems like what you are talking about. I want to do something non-sleazy. Doesn't have to be public interest or contributing to society, but i don't want to be the scum of society either, just a neutral capitalist like many are.

hmm, that sounds pretty cool. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Seems like you would have to land a job with a powerful entertainment law firm though first (very hard), and then stick with them for a long time, and then open up your own one?

im not joking either.I already got my stock
what does that even mean though? You can't just invest in a type of product, you need to buy stock directly from the company. So do you mean that all the companies that make hearing aids are all going to have exceedingly high earnings reports in the future?

Buying stock directly from companies is difficult but possible. Normally, people buy them from brokers.
