Parents are getting divorced.

After 10 years of marriage, my dad and his wife called it quits today. She is packing her shit and leaving this weekend I'm assuming.

Their marriage has been on the fritz for a few years now. Apparently they couldn't work things out.

I'm relieved because I know my dad is going to feel much better not having this burden over his head, staying in a unhappy relationship. So I think it's the best for him. Neither one of them has been happy for years. They got married in MI, moved down here 5 years ago, and that pretty much killed an already shaky marriage. She misses her grand children up north, and her brother and dad are dying, and her daughter just had major surgery.

Sucks for me because I have to chip in $300 a month for bills, but I really can't complain. I've been living here rent free for over a year now, and I don't mind helping out, so its all good. I was looking at moving out, but my dad needs me, and we get along, so I'm here to stay. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

When all hope is gone, sad songs say so much.

I personally never cared for the ****, I'm glad to see her leave, because I know that in the long run it's so much better for my dad.

Yeah marriage is a disposable thing these days, which is why I plan to never get married. Not everyone takes it serious, but I sure as hell would. Getting divorced wouldn't be option to me. I wouldn't ask the chick to marry me if in the back of my mind divorce might be in the future. Guess I'm just old fashioned.
