Pair of Kicker L7 12's vs Nighshade 18

Cuz Im working a deal for the 18 and I wanted some input on the nightshade 18!
My two cents:

Do you listen to your L7's at MAX VOLUME that often? If not, what's the problem? That 18 will look EFFING AWESOME. Way more badass than a pair of Kickers everyone with money to burn has.

the 18 UNDOUBTABLY can, and will get significantly louder than the 2 12" l7's that would blow off the power you can give a nightshade anyways
I would completely disagree.

In the proper install, the L7's could handle the same power and get very loud, not to mention the advantage of cone area, and more coil.

288sq cone area for the L7's, 254sq on the Nightshade. L7's are SPL oriented in general.
My GUESS is the L7's will get louder, but maybe not.
you are officially banned from answering cone area questions... thats like the 3rd time you've done that

thats NOT how you calculate effective piston area, which is what matters.

using ruff assumptions of a 1.5" surround for each subwoofer and 1/3 surround piston area (some use 1/3 some use 1/2, trying to make this easy to understand) than you subtract 1" radius from the measure of the sub to calculate effective piston area. I'm not going to go into cone depth because me and audioholic discovered a long time ago it doesn't matter

anyways, using a -1" on the radius you get 10x10 + 10x10 for the L7s or 200 in^2

for the shade using -1" on the radius you get 8^2x3.14 orr 200.96in^2

now give or take on the surround measure i use and whether you use 1/2 or 1/3 of the surround in your measure, my point is they are REALLLLY CLOSE and probably negligable

Never seen an L7 handle true 1500rms or more for 1 songs length. Shouldn't doubt something I haven't seen but I'll call BS till I see some proof.
