I bought my GF a 1997 Accord to drive.

Got it abt 18 mths ago.

The car was in great shape but the clear coat was pealing off the top of the car badly.

So I sanded it down lightly and sprayed it and it looked like Sh1t.

So I sanded it for about a week straight and sprayed it again today.

I used Rustoleum Paint from home depot and thinned it with Napatha.

I used a spray gun and 30 gallon compressor.

I used a quart of Satin black and a Quart of Flat black.

Cost about $30.00 total

I am going to sand the car down with 600 next and spray another coat.

I am going to wait till March most likely cause the temp is dropping here.

So anyway not a bad job for my first time.

Anyway the system is

Pioneer Avic-Z2 Head Unit (DVD - Navigation)

MB Quart 4 channel amp

MB Quart Q Series Old School Speakers in the front

Jl 10w3 in the rear

1/2 roll Fatt Matt

Yes the system cost more than the car is worth.

im sure the pics make it look better than it actually is, but overall, it doesnt look too bad actually.
Actually the pics and how it really looks are about the same.

The passanger side has a few light spots on it where I was having problems with the vent on the gun getting a bit clogged. But the drivers side looks pretty darn almost perfect.

Like I said before I plan on hitting the whole car with some 600 grit wet sand paper and spraying another coat on. I still have over a quart of paint left over. I am going to wait till it gets warmer though.

good sanding, lots of thin coats makes it look more even, then some clearcoat and you're good, the painting part is simple and easy, the prep work is redickulous and meticulous sanding and taping and covering areas you don't want painted. Nice job.

u should use better paint and put some coats of clear on it
I agree that way would have been better.

I am real careful with my cash as of late so I am trying to save $$ with everything I do.

However if and when I paint another car I am going to use some real automotive base coat clear coat paint.
