My neighbor backed into my buddies car on thanksgiving earlier this year //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Fresh junkyard door painted. Was silver, now its got 3 coats of fresh base, and two nice coats of clear on it.
Going to come through with a light wet sand with 1500 tommorow and then hang it back on the car. Probably wax and buff the rest of the car as well so the door doesnt stick out so much.
Started by sanding all the jams and face of the door with 400 grit. The door was already in pretty good shape, didnt need any body work or even to be sealed.
Sprayed the jams first followed by the rest of the door each coat, except the final coat. Then blended the clear into the jams as best as I could to match the factory look of the door.
The jams look a little better than factory and the face of the door will look really good after a light wet sand. Probably a little too good to match the rest of the car but oh well. Thats what 12 years of sun does. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
