Yea, ive heard some pretty bad things about them. like when they spray they dont even cover the tires and sometimes the windows with paper. like wtf is that hah. so theres overspray all over... they must keep a car like that there to mislead people into thinking they are getting quality work for next to nothing. or who knows, maybe their legit crazy:Funny I should see this today because I had a friend go by maaco yesterday to get a price on painting his car. They quoted him $550 for single stage. He said they took him to the back to show him how they prepped it and they had a car completely stripped down to the metal. They told him that is how they do their paintjobs. I just don't believe it for that price.
i guess i should have stated thats a normal rate where i live. everything here is very expensive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gifWow, body shop labor rates around here are $40/hr.
yea ive been told house of kolor is some of the better paint if your going with a custom candy type color. and i will need a custom mix done. do you happen to know if i can get the local dealer to get me a custom mix code or whatever it is and then have the factory mix it and send it to me? that would save me a lot by the sounds of itThere is a HUGE difference in paint prices. Some are way overpriced and some you get what you pay for. Any reputable name such as DUPONT, SPIES HECKLER, PPG, SHERWIN WILLIAMS, etc will be fine. As for the house of kolor, i used it on my other truck but bought it from http://www.hokpaint.com and it was about half price of what a store would charge you. If you are going a single color Nason makes a very inexpensive black, white, and red.
x2If I were you I would go to some shops and ask to see their work and go from there.
