also not to hijack your thread but i dont see a point of posting another thread but, how would i go about shipping a box/sub?\

you should be fine just wrapping one individually in a few layers of bubble wrap, and filling in the space with packing peanuts.

that is much easier, just get a box big enough for your box/sub combo and with sub mounted line the box with the said 3" of foam. If your surround pertrudes alot then use more foam there but make like a backwards baffle so that the surround has room, just shipped my cvr's in their box not to long ago

what do you mean by backwards baffle?

use like 3 1" pieces of foam but on the one that touches woofer cut a 12"/15"/10" hole, whatever sub you are packing, to that it's not coming in contact with the foam.
