Pa system troubles

I take my truck to the desert an awful lot and i thought that it would be nice to install a cb,pa combo. right now i bought a used cb radio for 30 bucks that is powered from the cig lighter, and i had an old cone speaker lying around which is like a small megaphone. The whole setup works, but isnt loud at all. what do i need?

An amplifier for the speaker. Hooking the speaker straight to the cb isnt going to power the speaker enough. If this will work, get a cheap amp from autozone that can run off of a cig lighter or w/e and get one of those 1/4th to rca cables, hook that up to the cb and the input on the amp, then hook the speaker to the output on the amp. I dont know if that would work but I would imagine it would???

alright thanks alot, ill give that a try. believe it or not but i hooked it up to my 400 watt amp in my car and it was quite loud.

or get a powered speaker made for CB's from like Radio Shack, im shure beatdominator can give you a price...
