P880 wont turn on

I got my P880 today brand new. I figured hooking the only the power and ground wire would be enough to just turn it on since I am short on time today. I hook it up and BAM nothing happened. ANy ideas?

you need to hook up all three.

Im not using the wiring harness right now just direct connect to the battery....does the acc go into the positive terminal

yep, gotta have all three

generally, the constant power wire is just for memory purposes, so it can retain where you are on a CD, your stored radio stations

have you ever been able to turn on a CD player without the keys in the ignition at least turned forward a little? nope; its the accessory power wire that tells the CD player when to turn on

Sources say no, you need to hook it up to something that receives power when the car is turned on. The stock stereo should have something of the sort, to allow to stereo to only turn on when the car is in ACC mode or running.

no, it goes into the corresponding wire.

do it right once or don't do it at all.

trying to take shortcuts, especially when you don't know what you're doing, is only gonna lead to problems

would you rather spend 10 minutes more on a headunit install or fry your deck?

I dont think yall understood. I will hook it up right. I just got it and wanted to pop my hood and hook it up long enough to see what the screen was like and all. I will definatley be correctly sauldering the wiring harness so no worries there. But ya I got it to work thanx.
