Nothing Is Promised
My friend bought a P7600MPand just got a new harness for it. Well his brother took out the Sony HU that was in the car before my friend got it and left all the wires still there...like he cut half the Sony harness off and left it hooked up to the factory wiriing.

SO I wired the new Pioneer harness up to the Sony one. The HU won't turn on. It is getting power cuz if i take the "ground dimmer" wire (sony harness) and place it with the 12Volt it turns on all his lights...same with power ant. There is a "mute" wire from the new harness that wasn't on my old harness last year. So the mute, ground dimmer, and power ant are the only ones not connected. Everything else is connected.

What do you all think it is? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

You probably blew a vehicle fuse. You need two power sources for the new radio; switched and constant power, to a yellow wire and a red wire. It's very common to blow fuses if you're doing cutting or wiring inside the vehicle with the battery still connected. Check all your vehicle fuses, including fuse boxes under the hood if necessary.

Ok cuz it is getting power. I have everything wired and the ignition wire is in and the 12volt is in. That's not hard but I will just check the fuse in his box and on the HU. I figured it's something like that cuz the power ant works and shiz if I touch it to the 12volt or any of the speaker wires. Thanks. He had to leave for like 2hrs so I will let you know if that worked..

dumb question, but.......did you try pushing the power button?

I've done it, I tore my pioneer apart to try and see if I can figure out why the amp inside bailed on me. I put it back together and put it in...I expected the clock to be on and just display a 12:00 or something, but there was nothing. So I figured I forgot to put something back together. Lets just say after a couple hours of screwing around I figured it out...

Yes Ive hit the on/off button.

Ok got new fuses: in the fusebox under steering wheel, under hood, and on the HU itself. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

What more can we tell you? If you're getting 12v on both the yellow and the red wires, and the deck won't turn on, then it's a bad deck. If you're not getting voltage on both wires, then you need to fix that problem.

We touched the ground to the negative on batt and 12Volt + Ignition to the positive batt and the HU turned on. It's not the HU. I guess it's just a bad wiring job...good thing he's suing them...

Anyone want a P7600MP PM me..
