P101 Harness for Mechman Alternators install help.

Whats up guys. Ive had a mechman 370 elite for some time now and realized that my suburbans (07) voltage regulation system is holding it back. To install this harness, could I tap in the yellow wire to the stock positive that would normally be connected to the stock alternator? Its the skinny red wire. I still have the stock positive hooked up under my 0ga positive on the mechman. Stock alternator is out. Only running the 370.
