hi guys,was just wondering if anyone knows whether the XO with the 180cs has any filters on it? like low/high pass? i was running dls up5's a while back and because my amp didnt have any filters they bottomed out occasionally //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Well, the crossover IS the highpass and lowpass filter. It highpasses the tweeter and lowpasses the mid.

However, most passive crossover components do not highpass the mid aswell. A pretty safe assumption would be to say no, the passive xover will not highpass the mid. You will need to do this externally either with the headunit, amplifier or some other external device.

If you are stuck and neither your HU or amp have internal crossovers, you could use FMODS which go in-line with the RCA connection between the headunit and amplifier;

But it's also not hard to hop onto ebay and find a good quality yet affordable true external crossover;

The later being the better option, IMO, as it's much more flexible.

I realize you're in the UK so those links might not be the best option to actually purchase from....but should give you an idea of what to look for.

Or if you aren't overly attached to your current HU and/or amplifier and don't mind expanding your budget some....you could always upgrade either one of those to something with a built in xover.

awesome,thanks for the reply //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif will just get a cheap external XO from ebay here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

any other comments on the 180cs? im thinking of choosing them over the UP6s as i found the tweeter too harsh sometimes?
