Overpowering my Amp?

I finally had a box built for my JL 13tw5-3 today. (pre-owned for a month) already broken in as far as I can tell. My amp is a Fosgate power 1000 25 to life 5channel, the sub channel is rated at 909 total rms watts @ 1ohm, and 682 total rms watts @ 2ohms. The sub is rated at 2.8ohm, would it be relatively safe to assume the amp would put out ROUGHLY 475 watts to the woofer?

The sub seems to handle anything the amp throws at it wonderfully as it is rated at 600rms at the most and JL recommends closer to 500 it looks like.

The amp has an LED display rating output level from each channel. My sub level hits the top (red led) earlier than I feel it should, but I'm really not sure. The Red LED indicates "the channel is clipping". I'm playing it safe and staying away from the Red but I am certain the sub is not clipping from an audio standpoint, does this mean the Amp is being overpowered???

On a side note, I'm 100% stock and the 250a amp seems to be running great off my electrical!! (Does anyone know where I can get a Digital Voltmeter thats mountable on my dash ??
