Overhead Monitor Problem

I am having issues with my overhead monitor. I can turn it on and drive around for a while and it works fine. But sometimes when I turn it back on. It says "No signal". Could it be that my monitor is going bad or defective cable.

How do I go about checking the cables. Is there a meter I can buy to check it. One minute I will have video the next its off. Don't think it is the dvd player because I just recently installed a new one and still the same problem.

make sure its not loose. maye plug it in and out and see what the monitor does. if it has done it on two different decks its either your connection or the monitor. i would replace the rca's and eliminate that problem first if its not a loose connection
