Hey guys,
I got a new (to me) daily driver! It's going to need some help to be a comfortable ride though, and the soundquality is up first
.
So it's a tradesman-van (fiat ducato) with a double cab. As far as I can tell the current audio setup is stock; that means 2 paper-cone drivers (20W, 4ohm, 6") in the front doorpanels and a "fiat 250 vp2 ece nav". I can't find too much info on the radio atm, and it seems like a pain to replace (but what do I know).
In my last van I used a load of parts a friend had laying around to upgrade the system. We put in some new drivers that just so happened to fit, used a fairly oversized amp and a monster of a 12" sub in a box he put together (that unit cost me a full passenger-space). Needless to say it was heaps better than stock, but not quite what I had in mind either...
For this one I would like a well balanced setup (I listen to all kinds of genres, not just bass-heavy). I'm not looking to throw any parties, other than the ones in the cab/my head while I'm driving to my next customer.
How would you guys go about it? What would you suggest? I'll be well capable of putting it together, but I'm no expert/audiophile to know what to look for in parts... I'm a carpenter, so I can make wooden housings for more drivers in the back as well if that's the best way forward.
Thanks!
