Is this amp better than the Orion2500D ? Is it Old school ?

Im predjudiced, I love the older well made amps better than the cheap offshore tin covered garbage that seems to be all that most recent amps are.

It is old, 2 ohm stable, their is 2 models... the all black one as pictured above, and a black and silver one which is newer (i believe) do about 2800 watts....

I'd take the XTR Pro. They put out great power, are really effiecient, and just look better than the newer chrome amps. I have a Pro 1000, and it looks great. Haven't installed it yet, but I will have a review up when I do.

Probably would choose the xtr pro, if i needed a 2 ohm load. much nicer looking, probably more reliable, about the same power.

Those older orion amps put out a lot of power at 2 ohm. I the only thing I hear is that if you try to run it below 2 ohms you are asking for smoke. I have an Orion XTR 1400 but I have not hooked it up yet. I would definately choose the 2400.

it depends on which amp you are running. The Pro 2400 is only rated as 2 ohm stable. Run almost any amp below it's rated stability, and you will eventually damage the amp.

Good point but a handfull of amps are able to run well below their rated ohm load for long periods of time before death comes.
