i see that this amp has 2 places to connect ground and power wires, does this mean that they both HAVE to be connected? or can i just connect it to one ground and one power and not both?

u sure? because theres a spot for main power and main ground, and theres a spot for secondarypower and ground sources

also if i do not connect the 2nd ground and power terminals, whats the worst that can happen? i asked orion and they said if i dont plan on pushing it too hard then i should be fine using only 1 ground and 1 power

It is not absolutely necessary to use both terminals. It will still work with only one power and one ground wire but will not be able to receive the maximum amount of current it is capable of drawing. If you don’t plan on pushing it too hard it should not be an issue for you.

i think ill be fine using just 1 power and a ground

Why buy it for it's power, and not run it to it's power level?

Gonna have to call BS on that coming from Orion.

The owners manual for the 2500d says "both pairs of connections must use 4 gauge wire for proper operation. Failure to do so may damage the amplifier and is not covered under warranty."

So I would go by their owners manual.

Dude ur amp will be fawked if u dont run both power and ground, i thought the same when i first got mines but i was quick to get the distro for my second battery

Buy 2. Run 1/0 guage power and ground, then 4 guage to the amp.

alright cool, will 4 gauge be fine to run from the battery to the distro blocks, then run 4 gauge from the blocks to the amp?
