Hey manI had this same problem. I would have like no bass until I turned The gain almost ALL the way up. I talked to shane (HCCAfan) about it via PM and he told me to do the exact same thing he told you in this thread. After I wired it to .7, set the low pass AND high pass correctly, the amp rules now.

Seriously I was mad too because it sounded like I had 1 10" when the gains werent all the way up. I did what shane said and now I think my roof is going to explode!

make sure your sub wires are in the right spot, and your rca's are in the input section.

as for speakerwire size, you will good with 14 guage or so.

what size fuse and power wire and ground wire?

i got this amp too and now i got my gain almost all the way up, sub lvl is all the way up on my HU, and hpf is off, i got the first switch set at "gain", whats the difference between gain and master? i got 0 gauge wiring for power and ground and 12 ga. speaker wire

gain means its getting signal from a master amp in the daisy chain.

ok when i got it installed at the audio shop, the guy who works there told me that high pass filter isnt meant for subs so he told me to just keep it off, is this true lol

he doesnt know wtf he is talking about when it comes to orion amps. i would check your ohm load also, bet he didnt know how to wire ish up.

when you turn on the highpass on orion, with the lp turned on, the high pass becomes a subsonic filter instead of a highpass. and then you can use the q boost function.

if they are dual 4 ohm, you cant get to .5. you will be able to go to 1 ohm or 4 ohm. so wire all positives together, and run that to the pos on the amp, and do the same with all negs to the negative. This is called parallel. http://www.jlaudio.com has a good wiring diagram.

oops. not with that config you cant get .5 ohms

2 DVC drivers with Voice Coils in Parallel / Parallel

Connecting the voice coils of each driver in parallel (+ to +, - to -) and the drivers themselves in parallel (+ to +, etc.) will result in the following impedances:

Dual-6 Ohm Subwoofers: 1.5 Ohms

Dual-4 Ohm Subwoofers: 1 Ohm

Dual-2 Ohm Subwoofers: 0.5 Ohm

Dual-1.5 Ohm Subwoofer: 0.38 Ohms

it is set on gain... i found that this switch doesnt make alot of difference

second switch is on 24

low pass is at like 80 or there abouts

hpf is on set at right above 30 hz

intelliq is a little more than 1/4 of the way up still sounds like i have a 10 in my trunk...

turn it to master, and make sure you high is at 30, you could have it at 180 .
