interesting read fellas, i guess its also dependant on what kinda box / car/ music/comp we are doing, and what kinda sound we like?(punchy / smooth) either way i think ill stick to less powerfull amps for a while, running fat wire and ho alts and extra batteries strikes me as no fun, especially as it gets plenty loud in my car off a class d 600 wrms and 1 x12", stock everything and 4 guage. but if i ever want 2500+ wrms in my ride (and i would love it, just for the "make your passengers chit" factor:up2somet: ) i know where to come and who to ask.

Well, not to interupt all the argueing, but I just sold the 2500 and got a 1200. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Should be a bit easier for my car to handle.

its always better to have more headroom... but, whatever floats your boat.

well i sold it so I could buy a 1200D and have some money left over for wiring and what not. I just quit my job cause I have to start running track. So I need all the money I can get. :\

Ever since Orion merged with Directed Electronics things havent been so great. Boxes matter a lot. But as much as orion has always been on the top of my list, they seem like they are changing their product to suit the needs of "tons of wattage." They started claiming huge amounts of wattage because thats what all the hype is nowadays (all the rappers and celebrities with chromed out audiobahns and other stuff claiming they have 5000 watts of power). Your also comparing r's to W3v2's...Im not hating r's or jl's but jl got them beat. or get rid of all of it and get an hcca comp and an hcca woofer (hard to find though).....the w3's WILL bow down //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Your also comparing r's to W3v2's...Im not hating r's or jl's but jl got them beat.

I'm also comparing 500watts / 2 W3v2's to 2500watts/ 2 Type-R's.

Pretty sure W3v2's w/ the 500/1 wont put out more than two type-R's at 2500watts. (depending on box)
